Blackpool Group Sponsored Walk 2005
in aid of
Rosemere Cancer Foundation
On Sunday 8th May 2005, the Blackpool Group Annual Sponsored Walk took place. The weather was kind to the 90 or so walkers who made the 13.5 Km walk from The Masonic Hall Adelaide Street Blackpool to The Taps Inn in Lytham. Sadly the Organiser of this event since its inception, W.Bro. Ivan Beauchamp, could not be there as he was receiving respite care at The Trinity Hospice in the Fylde. His presence was missed by all, and we wish him a speedy recovery. However W.Bro. Norman Bradshaw took over at the helm and did a splendid job.
Having completed the walk, we were welcomed at the Taps by mine host Ian Rigg and his wife June who did us proud with Hotpot and Red Cabbage followed by Apple Pie and Cream. The bar as usual was well stocked with the finest of ales so our spirits were raise in more ways than one
The target was to raise £5000.00 and first indications are very positive that the target will be reached
