Blackpool Group of Lodges

Three Generations of Freemasons.

Brother J.Richard Glover was installed into the Chair of Saturnian Lodge No.7563 on Saturday 20th, November 2010.  Richard is a third generation Worshipful Master of Saturnian Lodge. His grandfather Adam Glover, and his father Eddie Glover, were both founder members of the Lodge.

Richard was delighted to find when presented with the Worshipful Masters collar that inscribed on the reverse were both their names, recording the fact that they had presented the collar to the Lodge at its consecration in 1958. His father went on to be an Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Province, and is still well remembered and respected around the Fylde Coast.  Sadly he passed away in 1993, the year before Richard joined Freemasonry.

Richard lives in Bury and travels to Blackpool for his Lodge Meetings, and is looking forward to an active year in the chair.  His outside interests are wide and varied being proud of the achievement of qualifying as   England Cricket Board Coach level two.  He gained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Philosophy and Sociology and apart from devoting is time to his wife Rachael and their two children, son Jonathan and daughter Rachael he has a great interest in politics.

The Lodge was honoured by the presence of Terry Hudson,  Assistant Provincial Grand Master, who is a close friend of the Glover family.  Terry held over 50 masons spellbound with his response at the festive board, so much so that the 9 visitors from West Yorkshire have indicted that they will visit again next year, (inspite of Bill Eardley’s singing).
