The Ivan Beauchamp Memorial Walk 2008

from

The Masonic Hall, Adelaide Street, Blackpool

………..AND BACK!!!

 ( approx 2miles only )

on

Sunday 1st June 2008

Yes, It’s back again, with a shorter route, but with a Treasure Hunt element! This will hopefully encourage families and children to participate, and also make it easier to get back home when it’s all over!!!

The late W.Bro Ivan Beauchamp was a staunch supporter of local charities, and in his name we are continuing the annual walk. This year we have changed the format in an effort to make it both shorter and more interesting for families. In addition to the walking, there is a Treasure Hunt, with prizes.

The beneficiary this year will be the RNLI, and in agreement with the headquarters in Poole, the money raised will be “ring-fenced” for the Blackpool station for the “Train One to Save Many” campaign. We are the only country in the world which provides no state funding for the lifeboat service, and it relies totally on voluntary donations and fundraising. Every lump of £1000 will provide training for a crew member for one year.

Just recently in Blackpool we have seen evidence of the appalling conditions in which the crews have to put to sea, with the “Riverdance” beaching. When most of us are safe and warm during a storm, there will be lifeboats out in open water, saving lives.

You can be sure that by supporting Blackpool Lifeboat you will be helping to fund a much needed and highly valued service, providing assistance for local people and visitors alike.

With your help, the RNLI can continue to support the provision of the best service possible for sailors and swimmers off the Blackpool coastline.

We want you, your family, friends and neighbours to join us!

We are not setting a target, we just want to raise as much as possible for this terrific organisation. Additionally, by correctly using the sponsor form provided, tax payers can increase the value of their donation by Gift Aid….AT NO COST TO THEMSELVES! This gives the RNLI the tax paid on the sponsor’s donation, instead of it going to the government.

There will be free hotpot for all participants on their return to the Masonic Hall. This is a great opportunity to spend a most enjoyable half day with your family, friends and neighbours have a morning walk and raise money for the RNLI.

Spread the gospel and at the same time, invite your associates to join us on the Sponsored Walk.

The walk will start between 10 & 10.30am, with the traditional hot pot lunch available from 12.30pm.
