Secret Policeman’s Ball-Maybe.
Over 117 guests attended Tranquillity Lodge No. 6544 ladies evening their first in over three years. The venue was the Savoy Hotel situated right on the Fylde coast and they provided a faultless service helping to make the evening a memorable one for all who attended The Worshipful Master, Ronny Longley and his wife Marion thanked all who had attended, and helped to make this one of the most successful events in a very busy lodge calendar. Howard Nordwind presided over the evening’s events in his capacity as Director of Ceremonies, a position which he carried out in his usual aplomb. Entertainment was provided by an “Abba Tribute Band”, ensuring that there was a packed dance floor throughout.

Ronnie, who is a retired police detective, along with some of his “special “friends entertained everyone as they “branched” out into a version of the dance Y.M.C.A.” friends. It may have been, because they had a “captive” audience. The lodge record was broken for raffles, with a total of £783.36p being raised. What made this even more remarkable is that Tranquillity Lodge has only 18 members. All monies raised will be donated to Masonic and non- Masonic charities with Brian House being high on the list. Brian House is a children’s hospice which is well supported by the Freemasons on the Fylde coast. Brian House provides support and care for children and young adults who will NOT be cured of their illness.
