A NEW OFFICE FOR THE BLACKPOOL GROUP.

The Chairman of the Blackpool Group of Lodges,Ian Robertson has appointed Ian Smith, a member of Emblem Lodge to be the Group Membership Officer. As Group Membership Officer Ian will undertake a wide range of duties including being responsible for processing all enquiries concerning the possibilities of joining Freemasonry from persons with no existing Masonic contact  He will also guide and advise prospective candidates by introducing them to a suitable Lodge.

 Another major area of responsibility is to encourage membership enquiries from the general public. This is achieved by being a member of the team that organises Open days, exhibitions and shows within his own and neighbouring Groups.  This summer Ian has worked at the Great Eccleston Show and has also been involved with other shows.  As a result of these efforts he now has a large number of enquiries that he is currently processing.

Ian will also be happy to advise any Brother who has a potential candidate but is uncertain how to proceed with the application.  Commenting, Ian said, “Working collectively with the other Group Membership Officers we have helped to develop an infrastructure to effectively deal with all enquiries in the Province”  My aim is to continue to develop this marketing strategy that is already proving successful  I will be actively seeking Brethren to become part of a team within the Group to develop recruitment.  In May 2010 Ian was appointed with the Acting Rank of Provincial Junior Grand Deacon, An honour of which he is very proud.
