Blackpool Masons Ring in the New Year in Style.
Even a few months before, the New Year Celebration Evening, organised at the Masonic Hall, Adelaide Street, Blackpool was a sell out.
Peter & staff prepare for a busy evening
Around 150 Masons complete with family and children attended this popular function. Entertainment was provided by 3 top cabaret artists, and another first class buffet was laid out under the guidance of Margaret and her team of caterers. Peter Lewis, the Masonic Hall Steward was well prepared for the evenings onslaught, as he and his partner, Pauline, had brought in extra staff to cope with the numbers. Peter added, “We have a forward looking committee here, who have invested money into modernising the facilities.” “One of the problems found, was that members could not attend because of the lack of baby sitters”. “To overcome this problem we provide a separate room for the children, with a T.V. plus X-Box and games, which is well supervised.”
“This feature has become a popular asset as parents who may not have been able to attend, can now come along and leave their children in safety knowing they will be well looked after.” They can now come along, sit back and enjoy a fantastic evening”
A raffle was organised with all monies going to the hall funds.
The Masonic Hall Committee and the Staff here at Blackpool are looking forward to a busy 2011. They would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in the Province of West Lanc’s a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
