Masons 100 mile Hospice Walk raises £18,162

Freemasons on the Fylde Coast have presented £18,162 to Trinity Hospice following the Alf Short Sponsored Walk of 2004.  Freemason Alf Short walked the 100+ distance from Ulverston to Merseyside visiting every Hospice along the way.  The week long event finished at Willowbrook Hospice where Alf and a group of loyal walkers were received by Lady Pilkington.
In total the sponsored walk raised a staggering amount of £63,459 which is being divided up between all the 16 Hospices, each receiving a proportion of what was raised in each area.  The Fylde Coast masons raised the single largest amount

Michelle Smith - Development Officer for Trinity Hospice said:
"We are very fortunate to receive strong local support from Freemasons who work very hard to support the hospice and who make such a great contribution to our community.  This type of ongoing support will allow us to continue to provide our high standards of care for patients and their families and for that we are enormously grateful".
