Yet again the Annual Eight Mile Sponsored Walk from the Masonic Hall, Adelaide Street, to the Taps Inn, Henry Street, Lytham St. Annes, took place on Sunday 13th May 2001. The weather was ideal, the route taken along the sea-front made a perfect setting, but most of all the enthusiasm of the walkers all combined to making the walk a huge success.

The first to arrive - Rory Maskell, Wally Atcheson and John Singleton
On this occasion the whole of the proceeds raised by those taking part is to be donated in its entirety to the North West Air Ambulance.
Some 91 walkers took part with the youngest being just 6 years of age. The walkers consisted of Masonic Brethren, together with members of their families and friends.

On arrival at the Taps Inn they were joined with additional friends and relatives. Our hosts at the Taps Inn, W.Bro. Ian Rigg and his wife June, once again provided everyone with free Hot Pot followed by Apple Pie and Cream. The staff at the Taps were absolutely great by supplying many of those present with drinks at the Bar.

This annual walk is proving to be a terrific family and friends get together, all sharing in a superb day out and at the same time raising monies for some worthwhile charity.
