Blackpool Lodge No 1476. Excels.
Blackpool Lodge No. 1476, which is a member of the Blackpool Group of Lodges under the chairmanship of Ian J. Robertson, held their installation meeting at the Masonic Hall, Adelaide Street, Blackpool.
Blackpool Lodge experienced a fantastic turn out with 72 brethren attending. The lodge was also honoured to have in attendance W.Bro. Leon D.Tax. PSGD. Assistant Provincial Grand Master. During the evenings proceedings Leon was handed a cheque for the charities. Leon exclaimed his astonishment at the amount, a fantastic sum totalling, £7272-72p Leon went on to add that this amazing amount had been raised by a lodge with only 26 full members, and would be divided between Masonic and non-Masonic Charities.

It was also noted, and explained to all those in attendance, that £3752-00p of the total had been raised by the Blackpool Lodge 1476 Ladies Committee. The main beneficiaries were, the West Lancashire Masonic Charity, who with Gift Aid received £3922-72p. The Alzheimer’s Society who received, £2500-00p The Blackpool Masonic building fund received £450-00p. With the remainder being split between smaller donations.
